So you liked Buffy, kinda enjoyed Angel, totally loved FireFly and now you wait with bated breath for the arrival the Dollhouse right?
Well, even if you don't know WTF I'm talking about you need to take 45 min out of your day and watch Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog.
(Make sure you get past the 4 minute mark it starts out kinda slow people tell me).
It's clever, it's funny, it's original and since it's Joss Whedon, it turns pretty dark when you least expect it.
And after your done maybe we'll go out for drinks and discuss what our own video submissions to the E.L.E. are gonna be like.
(thx Andy for the heads up on this one)
P.S. Keep en eye out in Act 2 around the 16:10 mark.
The Park scene was filmed at Echo Park in...Echo Park just like
2 months after I shot a video in the exact same spot.
Kinda kool.
RU N2 8-Bit?
For the past three years that I've been living in LA I've been trying to make it to this art show that's been gathering up a lot of steam for the last couple of years. This year apparently was a 2 hour wait to get in on opening night. I passed. But I am going to go before the Aug 4th deadline. Interested?
Here's some pics and a breakdown of the evening via KOTAKU)
Brisco County Jr. at the Olympics?
This one threw me for a loop. While watching the Olympics last week one of my housemates noticed that one of the songs that plays durring the OlyJr." a short lived, Western meets Sci-Fi Bruce Campbell vehicle that rocked Friday nights back in the early 90's. If you've never seen it before Netfilx has got you covered.
At first I figured it was just a mistake, then I figured Brisco just must have borrowed the song from somewhere else. As it turns out, it was an original score created for Brisco that found a new home in Sports broadcasting after the shows cancellation. Way to go Brucey.
Let the Killing Re-Begin! September 28th.
It's no secret that I love the show Dexter on Showtime, and I think there's a lot more people that gave the show a chance and are now just as big a fan as myself.
So hopefully you're as excited for Season three to begin as I am.
Here's a teaser for the upcoming season
Epilogue:
As I read over this blog one last time moments before I hit the "publish" button, I can't help but notice it already feels a little outdated.
The Olympics are over, 8bit is 2 weeks in, and Dr. Horrible already feels like it's been picked to the bone.
I actually had this done mid-last week but got caught up with a Thursday shoot at the Avalon, then with a 3 day weekend, it just kept getting set aside.
We'll, fuggit. The next one I do, I'll try not to spend so much time tightening the screws before I kick it out the door.
