Nexus 6, or is it 7 now?

So I was talking to this guy last weekend that said he’s never seen Blade Runner
BLADE RUNNER! Maybe I’m just being an elitist by saying this but…Are you fucking kidding me?!?!

There are certain pieces of art that exist in this world that when referenced, if somebody doesn’t get the reference, just completely boggles my mind. Like when somebody says, “I never really listened to Fugazi?” or “What’s 1984 about anyways?”, or in this case “I’ve never seen Blade Runner”, it kind of throws my world off balance for a second. Does this ever happen to anybody else?
I think it’s because these things are pillars in their artistic medium and have been a constant influence on their perspective genres and society for upwardly of 50+ years. (1984 was published in 1949). If you haven’t seen it before, well, now’s your chance.

Altering the Future! - Again?
To coincide with the 25th anniversary of Blade Runner, Ridley Scott is
Re-releasing his sci-fi masterpiece in select theatres this October, unfortunately, so far I’ve only seen screenings listed for LA and NY.
But, now get this, its not just a re-releasing of the movie, he’s also (brace yourselves) apparently re-cut the entire movie much like he did back in ’92 when he released his Directors Cut version of the film, well now he’s apparently adding more special effects, scenes, and extra dialogue and calling it “Blade Runner - Final Cut”.
In case you’ve lost count, this will be the 4th version made available by Scott.
I still think the original was the best.

What do you mean “4th”!?!
Good news for everybody that doesn’t live in LA or NY and want’s a piece of the Blade Runner pie. On Dec. 18th WB will release a DVD box set that includes all 4 versions of the film, (Original, International Release, Directors Cut, and Final Cut).
Along with some extremely cool extras.
Not only is the case a Blade Runner suit case but look at all the other shit that comes in the Box Set.

Upside Down Blueprints Perhaps?
Some Polish guy built an upside down house to remind people of horrors being committed against humanity.
They say people tend to leave feeling nauseated, and dizzy.

A Bald New Adventure

I just realized the other day, after getting in our Survivor China footage, just how long it’s been since I last blogged. So I figured what the hell, I'm gonna shoot for a quarterly blog, just for now, and see how it goes. Due to how utterly problematic and limiting MySpace is when it comes to blogging, I'm going to use this exterior site so I can soup up my blogs and really make them a much more Multi-Media experience. Please feel free to leave me feedback on either this site, or on my MySpace page, which will also contain simple links to this blog.

Perhaps a Bit Too Ambitious

As for me, things have been going pretty okay lately, the other night I got to go to an Emmy party at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, where we (CBS Mobile) received our official Emmy nomination for outstanding creative achievement in interactive television.
It’s kind of a big deal for me but at the same time I’m pretty sure Current TV is gonna walk away with the award, from an innovation standpoint they deserve it. Also they were co-founded by Al Gore.

The Wired Nextfest is just around the corner (Sept 14-16th) for anybody that want’s to go nerd the fuck out with me. It’s gonna be held at the LA convention center and is only $20 buck to enter, plus you’ll get a free mag subscription with purchase of your ticket.
They’re gonna have over 160 booths covering all things future-esk, including the awesome HUBO.

Enough about me let's talk about Me-dia.

There’s a lot really cool stuff coming down the pipeline in the coming months for all us Media geeks out there, let's take a look.

Serial Killer Vigilante
Dexter is coming back for it’s 2nd Season, and if I haven’t burned you a catch-up copy of the first season yet, get down to Best Buy. Season one just came out Aug 21st, and it’s totally worth the $30 buck it’s gonna cost ya.
And if you’re already a big fan of the show you can watch the first two leaked episodes from the upcoming season two at watchtvsitcoms.com.

Don’t Fear the Reaper
If you’re a Kevin Smith fan, “Reaper”, a new show coming out on the CW this fall (I know it’s CW but give it a shot, it’s worth it, I swear) about a kid who’s forced to become the Devil’s (Ray Wise, Leland Palmer from Twin Peaks fame) personal bounty hunter of escaped demons. Although Smith directed the pilot don’t expect much more participation from him on this one because he and the CW had a sort of falling out and he’s not expected to contribute after the initial episode.

She's Dead...Wrapped in Plastic.
Speaking of Twin Peaks, I just found this Definitive Gold Box Edition that contains both Seasons 1 & 2 as well as the original Pilot. Not bad. If you haven’t seen this series in its entirety, now’s as good as time as any to find out what the hell people are talking about when you hear them say "How's Annie?", Or you just watch the final moments of the entire series right now.
SPOILER ALERT Seriously, this is that last 30 seconds of the entire Twin Peaks Series.

FtotheOtotheTtotheC
It’s no small secret that I’ve been touting Flight of the Conchords as by far the funniest show on TV (well, HBO anyways), after all I’ve been selling them to just about everybody ever since they appeared on the Late Late show over a year ago, I’ve also got their song "Think Think About" It as my ringtone, well the good news is they just got picked up for a second season. The season finale was last Sunday, so now you can catch all the reruns periodically on HBO.
