Dreaming of Electric Sheep

The Wired Nextfest was held at the LA convention center over the weekend and was a total blast. Here are some of my favorite highlights from the event.

My Best Friend the Robot
Robotics Company showcases new breed of Robo-sapiens

Zeno, as he's called, has advanced AI, both Voice Recognition & Face Recognition software, he's also Bluetooth capable so he can talk and learn from your computer/internet, and he has a voice synthesizer allowing him to communicate to you verbally.
How big of a coincidence is this that on the anniversary of Blade Runner, we see the first generation of realistic android technology being released.

News at Seven
Automatically generated virtual newscast that gets pulled from stories, images, videos and blogs of your choosing.
Personalize you own news cast and have it delivered by a computer generated "News caster".

Now mix this with the Zeno Buddy and you've got something really cool.

It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, Moon

Google Throws down the Lunar-Gauntlet for a $30,000,000 purse.

The first two privately funded teams that make it to the moon, (with specific requirements) will not only win the cash, but also help usher in a new area of civilian funded space exploration.Donate as little as $10 to help fund this amazing competition.
